Chamber Corner: Thank You Businesses, Circus Tickets

The Fall Fest on Main Committee is thankful for all the sponsorships coming in from our awesome local businesses and organizations.

We ask for sponsorships to pay for expenses to hold Fall Fest on Main. In return, all the earnings we make from the weekend goes back into the community.

In 2016 - Proceeds went to bringing in a community strategic plan team from Western Illinois University. The result was the formation of WOW: Working on Walnut. WOW has made a huge impact on our community already.

In 2017 - We donated money towards the renovation of the new Pass It Along location.

There are many worthwhile causes for 2018. We can't wait for another great year.

Coming by the end of this month: This year's schedule released, posters and brochures distributed, and the launch of a Fall Fest on Main website! The date for this year’s Fall Fest on Main is Saturday, October 6th. Stay tuned.

But, before Fall Fest on Main, the Circus is coming to town.

Right now, you can buy discounted, advanced tickets at the following businesses: Avanti Foods, Citizens First State Bank, Guido’s Coiffure, Pass it Along, Pit Stop, Roots Hair Salon, Shear Delight, Shell in Walnut and Princeton, and Walnut Acres Country Store. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for children (2-12) and seniors, and 2 and under are free.

There will be two shows on Wednesday, August 29th - 5:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. More information in the press release in today’s paper.

There was a sign I saw recently that I wanted to share with you. It said “When you buy from a small business you’re not helping a CEO buy a third holiday home. You’re helping a little girl get dance lessons, a little boy his team jersey and mom and dad putting food on the table. Shop local.”
