Chamber Corner: Circus, Fall Fest on Main, Dollar General

By now you’ve probably seen the signs on Rt. 92 and the posters at local businesses… the Circus is coming to town!

The Culpepper & Merriweather Circus will be here on Wednesday, August 29th for two shows - 5:00 and 7:30 p.m.

You can buy your discounted tickets now at the following businesses: Walnut Acres Country Store, Guido’s, Roots, Pass it Along and Avanti’s. More locations coming at the beginning of this week.

Cost is $10 for adult tickets and $7 for children (2-12) and seniors (65+). Children under 2 are free. Tickets will be available the day of the shows for $13 and $8, but it does benefit the Chamber and the community more if you buy the advance tickets.

The circus hasn’t been to Walnut in almost 10 years, it should be a fun evening.

Also Fall Fest on Main is quickly approaching (Saturday, October 6th). We are heavily planning this year’s events and schedule. If you would like to volunteer in any capacity contact me at director@walnutillinois.com.

This past week we had a new business open in town. Dollar General opened it’s doors on Rt. 92 and their hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week. Dollar General has a lot to offer that we haven’t previously had in our town. Stop by and take a look around. Some comments I’ve heard is that we still need to support our grocery store and I wholeheartedly agree. I trust Walnut will do a great job of still supporting our grocery store for all their grocery needs. We are blessed to have a grocery store in town again after nearly 10 years.

The great news is we are very close to getting the point where you don’t have to leave town to buy anything!

Have a great week and remember to shop Walnut whenever you can.
