Chamber Corner: Fall Fest Week

It’s Fall Fest week! A lot of planning has gone into what should be a fun weekend ahead.

Starting Friday night, come down to the Chili Cook-Off and Pie Baking Contest. You can participate by baking or cooking or simply come and taste the delicious recipes.

On Saturday, all the fun begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m. You can see the full schedule at walnutfallfest.com or in today’s Walnut Leader.

A couple of things of note related to Fall Fest. If you don’t want the party to end at 8 p.m. you can head over to Main Street Bar & Grill for a Fall Fest After Party. The band Chaotic Force will be playing all night.

Also from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. check out the first Pop-Up Shop at 118 S. Main Street (the old Walnut House building). Sandy Pistole has rented the building for the day to display women’s clothing and an accessories line that she is a stylist with.

Also I know it sounds crazy but it’s time to start thinking about the upcoming Holidays. There’s no reason not to do a lot of holiday shopping in Walnut this year. For Thanksgiving, Walnut Acres Country Store, Avanti Foods and Dollar General should have you covered.

For Christmas, check out our retail stores throughout town. We will be advertising holiday specials for them in the coming weeks. If you are a gift card shopper, consider getting one from one of our local restaurants or gas stations.

Walnut’s Christmas Open House will be on Small Business Saturday on November 24th. More details coming on the events for that day.
