Chamber Corner: Membership, Garage Sales, Taste of Walnut, Banquet

Our Chamber membership drive is going strong. We appreciate all the individuals, couples and businesses that have sent in renewals or become new members for 2018.

Your membership helps us complete different projects throughout the year. Honestly, the majority of the money gets invested right back into our town. The Townwide Garage Sale dates have been set for 2018. The Spring sales will happen on May 4th and 5th and the Fall sales will be September 14th and 15th. Mark your calendars now.

Also set for May 5th will be the Taste of Walnut, hosted by WOW. The committee has had to postpone the event a couple of times for various reasons, but this date is set in stone. This is a rare opportunity to sample all the dining establishments in town - Avanti Foods, Green River Country Club, Konz Restaurant & Lounge, Mama T’s, Shell Express Lane, Walnut Acres Family Farms and Walnut Cafe. Tickets will be available again soon. I’ll keep you posted.

The annual Chamber Banquet will be held on Monday, March 26th at Konz Restaurant & Lounge at 6 p.m. The event will feature supper, speakers, awards, some business displays and Chamber goals and plans for 2018. If you haven’t attended the banquet before this is a good year to start. Thank you to Dan and Lisa for letting us use their restaurant for the evening. They will always put together a delicious supper.

As always make sure you shop Walnut whenever you can. We have a lot of great businesses in town that are ready to serve you.
