2018 Chamber Membership and Banquet

It may not feel like it, but Spring is right around the corner. It’s February now, which means the days are getting a little bit longer and Easter is less than two months away.

February and March are big months for the Chamber.

This week we sent out our Membership letters to over 150 businesses and individuals. Those receiving the letter have a chance to renew their membership for the 2018 year. However, we would love to have new members. If you support what the Chamber is doing for Walnut please consider becoming a member. Membership forms are available at www.walnutillinois.com or e-mail me at director@walnutillinois.com and I can send you a form.

As the letter states, it’s an exciting time to be a part of the Chamber. This past year was a productive one with the creation of WOW: Working on Walnut and the addition of new businesses in town. There is still a lot of work to be done, we all know that. But, we seek to continue the momentum into 2018 and continue to improve and grow Walnut.

Your contributions to the Chamber allow us to hand out Business Improvement Grants to at least three Walnut businesses a year, to put together the Fall Fest on Main, to participate in Walnut Days activities, to hold Walnut’s Christmas Weekend, to actively promote Walnut through social media and our website, plus many other things.

In March, the Chamber holds its annual Banquet which is a time to gather to look back on the past year, set our sights on the future and hand out a couple of awards (the Making a Difference Award and the Hall of Fame recipient or recipients). We are actively planning this year’s event and hope to see you there. Cost is $20 per individual or $35 per couple. It will be held on Monday, March 26th at Konz Restaurant & Lounge. Dinner is included.

I can promise the Chamber will continue to work hard in 2018 to achieve our goals as well as live out our mission statement, which is: to take a leadership role in promoting Walnut through active civic participation to enhance the community’s economic well-being and improve the business climate.

Have a great rest of the week and as always shop Walnut.
