Chamber Corner: Christmas, Chamber Memberships, Fall Fest donation

With Christmas right around the corner, I hope you are done shopping or close to it. If not, there are plenty of options to shop in Walnut for gifts.

One gift idea would be a 2018 Walnut Rotary Club Calendar. The Rotary Club has been making a calendar every year for as long as I can remember and they are cheap at only $5. This year’s calendar features different churches and pastors from the surrounding area. You can purchase them at: Shear Delight, Walnut Cafe, Citizens First State Bank, Konz Restaurant & Lounge, Walnut Acres Country Store, Roots Salon, Pit Stop, The Walnut Leader, Guido’s Coiffure and V&C Construction.

How about Car Wash tokens for a stocking stuffer? Take advantage of the December special. You can get five car wash tokens for only $20. That’s just $4 a wash.

The Chamber does not meet in December due to full schedules with the holidays, but in January we will begin planning our 2018 membership drive. We have always received great support from Walnut businesses and individuals. If you or a business is interested in becoming a Chamber member in 2018 contact me at director@walnutillinois.com.

Yes, we do offer individual and couple memberships in addition to business memberships. This allows the Chamber to do different activities throughout the year like put on the annual Chamber banquet, participate in various Walnut Days activities, give our Business Improvement Grants, and host the Fall Fest on Main.

Speaking of Fall Fest on Main, we are pleased to announce that we will be presenting a $7,000 check to the Main Street Revitalization Committee with the proceeds that we made from the event. We really believe in what the Main Street Revilization Committee is trying to accomplish and are happy to work alongside that group to accomplish their goals.

I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Remember to shop Walnut whenever you can.
