Chamber Corner: WOW events, Chamber notes, Walnut Days, Upcoming benefits
It's starting to feel like summer. Temperatures in the mid 90's this week! Technically, summer doesn't even start until June 20th. If this is spring, I wonder what July and August will bring.
The Little Free Library event is complete. Thanks to the Events Committee from the WOW Group for your hard work on the event. Town Meeting is tonight. Looking forward to hearing the feedback from that event.
Chamber Meeting this Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Green River Country Club. Looking forward to getting together with the group again to talk about upcoming plans. Right now the focus is Walnut Days and the events the Chamber hosts during the weekend, but we have to start talking about Fall Fest on Main too! Hard to believe!
We have a couple of new Chamber Members that have joined recently. Brian Wetzell at Professional Electric is a new Chamber member. He recently bought the Andersen Power Equipment building for a workshop and is ready to serve any electric needs you may have for your business or residential properties. Thank you for your membership, Brian. Also, Jamison Media Services is a Digital Marketing Company owned by yours truly. I help other businesses with their online presence through website design, social media marketing, videography, etc. I promise not to self-promote in this Corner in the future, but we always like to recognize new Chamber members.
Our featured Chamber Business of the Month is Green River Country Club. We try and feature a business each month at walnutillinois.com. It's the perfect time of year to feature the Country Club as golf season is in full gear. The Country Club also serves food on Tuesday and Thursday nights.
Walnut Days is fast approaching! Make sure you sign-up to volunteer for an event or take part in the various activities. I believe Sandy Green is still looking for helpers to serve at the Chicken and Fish Fry Dinner (Friday and Sunday) that the Chamber hosts.
Try and support the upcoming benefits coming up. The Keegan Carlson Benefit is this Friday at Green River Country Club, Brenda Helms Benefit is this Saturday starting in Manlius and Tammy Monier's Benefit is Saturday, June 24th at the Park District. We have some citizens in need and it would be great to see a lot of community support.
