Chamber Corner: Spring is Here, Blood Drive, Queen of Hearts

There are many reasons to enjoy this time of year as the weather starts to warm up. Soon we will have the flower boxes out on Main Street and things will start to look a little greener. The golf course is preparing to open back up for the season and Shell is selling ice cream again! Make sure to stop by for some soft serve ice cream. Walnut Rotary Club has a few events coming up. On Wednesday they will hold a Blood Drive with Red Cross from 1-6 p.m. at the Community Building. On Saturday, April 20th, the annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held at 11 a.m. at Heritage Health. The Walnut Chamber will start to turn their attention to our efforts to look at beginning a new telephone directory and the Walnut Days events we are involved in. It’s hard to believe but Walnut Days will be here before we know it. Right now you can support Walnut Days with the Queen of Hearts Drawing being held at Harry’s Pub on Saturday evenings. A percentage of the jackpot will go back to the Celebration Committee. Also the Queen of Hearts Drawing supporting the Walnut American Legion is still being held at the Golf Course on Friday nights. Two opportunities to win a good chunk of money while supporting worthwhile organizations. Don’t forget to shop Walnut this week!
